PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale DLC Announced

Well, even though the game doesn’t come out until the 20th, we’ve already found out what the first DLC isKat from Gravity Rush and Emmet Graves from Starhawk. Kat will show up with her kicking folks from a mile away ability, while Emmet will bring along his weapons and his calling-down-support from the sky thing. The DLC will be free and is expected in the early part of 2013.

I’m stoked for the game, by the way — it’ll be nice to see some cross-play support between the Vita and PS3, and it’ll be nice to have a break from UMVC3. The game looks great — I’ve heard it called Smash Brothers for the PlayStation. While fighting games are nothing new, it’ll definitely be really cool and I’m looking forward to more DLC in the future. If they could keep on adding DLC characters forever I’d be happy.

By the by, if you buy the PS3 version, you get a download code for the Vita. While my 8-gig memory card is bursting at the seams, it’s really an offer you can’t refuse. Well you could, but you’d be an idiot. Unless you didn’t have a PS3, I guess. If you had a PS3 though and not a Vita, that’s reason enough to by a Vita — it’d be a sweet $300 PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale sim.
